John spent his early years hunting and fishing in NE Pennsylvania. It was not uncommon for John and several friends to skip class and spend the day trout fishing on the Lackawanna River for Browns.

 
When not in the  out-of-doors John enjoyed watching and learning of new techniques and unique destinations from shows such as Fishing with Virgil Ward  and his all-time favorite Walker Cay Chronicles  hosted by Flip Pallot.

Flip was and is a role model that John admires. A love of fishing coupled with hard work and some good fortune has allowed John to explore some of the greatest fisheries the world has to offer.
